Bucharest, August 19th 2020: The spirits from the portfolio of Alexandrion Group, the biggest producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages and wines in Romania, were distinguished with 13 medals at authoritative, influencial competitions with long standing experience in the industry, held in Europe and North America, this summer. Alexandrion Group brands: Brâncoveanu vinars, Alexandrion, Kreskova Vodka and Zolmyr were rewarded for their remarkable attibutes, memorable taste and optimum balance between flavours, with master, gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as with excellency medals within the brandy, European brandy, fruit brandy and vodka categories. Every year, the medals obtained by the Alexandrion Group spirits, certify and confirm the quality and authenticity of the brands.
The beverages registed in the 4 competitions were tasted in blind and judged by experts in the area- distiller masters, spirits producers, consultants, restaurant and bar owners, specialized journalists and spirits book authors, from all over the world- based on criteria such as region, variety, age, flavours, taste and final. For an impartial assesment, each drink was tasted in several stages, over a longer time period, to allow the product to manifest its best features.
Brâncoveanu vinars VSOP obtained silver medal and Brâncoveanu vinars XO obtained bronze medal at International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2020, held in London (Great Britain), while Kreskova Vodka and Zolmyr apple were awarded with silver medals within the same competition. One of the competitions, with the biggest longevity and most respected in the area, launched in 1969, IWSC, is organized every year and gathers spirits brands from more than 90 countries. The silver medal certifies the quality of the drinks with a good balance, strong character and good complexity, while the bronze medal is granted to the well-made drinks, that create an enjoyable drinking experience.
Kreskova Vodka was distingushed with the highest distinction of the competition- master medal- at The Vodka Masters 2020 and gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2020, both organized in Great Britain. The Vodka Masters is part of the series of competitions with world resonance and participation, The Global Spirits Masters, and is a contest that rewards excellency in spirits manufacturing, offering key differentiators to the brands, in an extremely varied global market. On its 25th edition, International Spirits Challenge is acknowledged for the rigorous evaluation process, carried over 12 days by a jury made of more than 50 professionals with extended experience in the spirits industry, that the over 1,700 spirits from more than 70 countries, registered in the competition, go through. International Spirits Challenge encourages the participation of high caliber brands.
Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2020 competition, organized in North America, brought 7 medals to the brands from Alexandrion Group portfolio. Thus, Brâncoveanu vinars XO won “Tried & True Award”, with 94 points, Brâncoveanu vinars Reserve and Brâncoveanu vinars VSOP obtained the titles “Excellent Highly Recommended” with 91 points and Brâncoveanu vinars VS obtained the medal “Very Strong, Strong Recommendation”, with 88 points. Kreskova Vodka reached 92 points and received the distinction “Excellent Highly Recommended”, Zolmyr apple was awarded with “Very Strong, Strong Recommendation”, obtaining 88 points and Alexandrion 5* received the medal “Good Recommended”, for the 83 points obtained. The standards of the evaluation methodology of the Ultimate Spirits Challenge competition were revised, the jury’s requirements became higher and the evaluation was made in several stages.
Over the years, the spirits produced by Alexandrion Group won numerous medals and national and international competitions, showing remarkable qualities. Between 2017-2020, Brâncoveanu vinars, Alexandrion, Kreskova Vodka, Alexander Vodka, Saber Elyzia, Zolmyr and Suman won 131 medals at competitions dedicated to the industry, within design and taste categories.
