Bucharest, September 30th, 2020 – New medals for the wines produced by the The Iconic Estate cellar, part of Alexandrion Group: the wines stood out through their authentic taste, the optimally harmonized notes and flavours and unique attributes, at the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2020 (IWSC), a well-known contest in the industry of alcoholic beverages, with a tradition of over 50 years. Wines from both the internal and external market ranges were awarded with numerous medals at IWSC 2020. The jury of the competition, made of international experts- producers, sommeliers, distributors, buyers and influencers– tasted „in blind” The Iconic Estate wines and assesed them against wines from 90 other countries. The competition is organized, every year, in Great Britain.
The unexpected combination of pineapple, grapefruit and apple notes has brought to La Crama Sauvignon Blanc wine a bronze medal at IWSC 2020. With an intense red colour and plum notes, La Crama Merlot wine also obtained a bronze medal at the competition.
Some of the wines from the Mythological Collection range were awarded bronze medals, granted to well produced wines, that create an enjoyable experience for the consumers. Elegant and complex, Hyperion Pinot Grigio has fresh apricot and green apple flavours and fine floral notes, harmoniously combined on a slightly mineral background. The roboust, but at the same time refined structure of Hyperion Fetească Neagră wine was, also, rewarded by the jury of IWSC 2020, with a bronze medal.
Colina Piatra Albă – White (Chardonnay, Viognier, Fetească Albă) wine stood out through its fruity taste and long end, slightly floral and mineral, qualities due to which it obtained a bronze medal.
Prahova Valley Sauvignon Blanc, one of the four white wines from Prahova Valley range, with a tradition of 17 years on the Romanian market, won a bronze medal within the competition.
Produced at Rhein CIE Azuga Cellars, from 1892, according to a traditional method from France, the sparkling wines Rhein Extra are the oldest and most acknowledged sparkling wine brand in Romania. Rhein Extra wines are, at the same time, the official brand of the Royal House of Romania and were awarded bronze medals at IWSC 2020.
