The Iconic Estate wines, from the Alexandrion Group portfolio, were awarded with gold and silver medals at the International Wine Contest Bucharest Vinarium 2021 (IWCB Vinarium 2021), one of the most important international wine competitions in Eastern Europe. The wines from the Rhein Extra, Byzantium, Millennium and La Umbra ranges were evaluated with high scores, due to which they were in the top of the ranking, by the jury composed of 48 local and international specialists. In addition to the award-winning wines, other wines from the portfolio of The Iconic Estate, participant in the competition, obtained over 80 points. Vinarium 2021 brought together over 1,200 still and sparkling wines from 25 countries, this year.
The sparkling wines Rhein Extra Brut Imperial and Rhein Extra Brut Rosé caught the attention of the members of the jury and won their appreciation for their unique attributes – fine, persistent frothiness, special creaminess and long and tasty finish, being rewarded with gold medals.
Two wines from the Byzantium range were awarded with gold and silver medals. Byzantium Rosé won the jury that it awarded it the gold medal, standing out for the perfect harmony between the delicate, long, raspberry, strawberry and grapefruit flavors. Byzantium Blanc, a wine that attracts with its fresh notes of yellow fruits, well ripened and the enchanting flavours of white flowers, won a silver medal.
Elegant and complex, with wonderful aromas of apricot and green apple, with subtle mineral and floral notes, obtained from hand-picked grapes, at optimal maturity, from The Iconic Estate vineyards in Dealu Mare, Hyperion Pinot Grigio was awarded a silver medal the Vinarium 2021.
The Millennium range was created to mark the beginning of a new era and to remind wine lovers that every day is a gift of life that must be cherished and celebrated with gratitude. Millennium Cuvée Dulce (Sweet), a sparkling wine with pronounced floral aromas and sweet taste, in which discreet notes of cloves are slipped, won a silver medal at this year’s competition.
The 18th edition of IWCB Vinarium 2021 took place online between May 27-30 and was organized in partnership with the Association of Authorized Wine Tasters of Romania (ADAR), under the umbrella of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the Federation International Grand Wine Competitions (VINOFED).
