Producer, exporter and selective importer of still and sparkling wines, THE ICONIC ESTATE completes Alexandrion Group, the market leader in the production and distribution of wines and alcoholic beverages in Romania, and from 2017, the only single malt producer in the country.
In June 2018 six new companies entered the Alexandrion Group portfolio by acquiring Halewood Wines and Spirits Romanian operation. Now, they represent a new entity within the group, under the name of THE ICONIC ESTATE.
THE ICONIC ESTATE owns production and storage facilities, bottling lines for still and sparkling wine, controlled temperature storage and underground cellars. The winery in Tohani, Gura Vadului, is one of the largest cellars in the Dealu Mare region, with a processing capacity of 5000 tons of grapes per year, producing about 3.6 million liters per year, representing 5 million bottles. Every year, the wines produced have been awarded in various international competitions, most notably being the Prahova Valley Special Reserve Pinot Noir 1999 being the first Romanian producer to win the gold medal at the World Concours of Brussels in 2002. THE ICONIC ESTATE sells its wines in more than 40 countries worldwide and has become the second largest exporter of bottled wines in Romania: about 50% of annual production is sold abroad, with the main export markets being: Great Britain, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, USA, Czech Republic, Israel, Japan, China, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Mexico, Finland, etc.
THE ICONIC ESTATE owns over 255 hectares of vineyards most of them in Dealu Mare – one of the most fertile vineyard areas in Romania similar to two famous European wine regions Piemonte in Italy and Bordeaux in France.
Part of THE ICONIC ESTATE is also Pivnițele Rhein & CIE in Azuga that produces sparkling wine. It was established in 1892 and is still maintaining the traditional method of production.
