Prestigious UK publication The Spirits Business wrote “Another Gold also went to Romania’s Carpathian Single Malt Whisky Cognac Cask Finish, enjoyed for its “nice maltiness” on the nose and hints of “chocolate, malt, cereal and some red fruit”.
Dr. Nawaf Salameh, Founding Chairman of Alexandrion Group, noted:
“The incredible results of Carpathian Single Malt Whisky in the Global World Whisky Awards 2023 competition (UK), International Spirits Challenge (UK), International Wine & Spirit Competition (UK) & Ultimate Spirits Challenge (USA) were an opportunity for me to take a few moments and think about the beautiful, yet challenging path that Romania’s first single malt whisky has had. The idea started to develop in my mind more than twenty years ago when I realized the potential that Romania had to produce single malt whisky and when I also understood that our people need and deserve to enjoy a world class whisky produced in their country. Alexandrion Group was able to give that to them. The positive feedback that we receive from consumers all over the world and the evaluation of the expert judges of some of the world’s most highly regarded international spirits and wine blind-tasting competitions are an extra confirmation that Carpathian Single Malt is a strong competitor on the global market. Our international journey continues.”
Romania’s first ever single malt whisky has grown from strength-to-strength under the stewardship of Master Distiller, Allan Anderson who stated:
“In just over one year since unveiling Carpathian Single Malt Whisky and only a few months since the commercial launch, these awards are a testament to Dr. Salameh’s vision and belief that Romania’s natural assets were ideal for creating an exceptional Single Malt. They also confirm that we are very much on the right trajectory and will continue to develop the quality and accessibility of our ranges and releases, through our passion for this premium product”.
